The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Department of Rehabilitation Sciences
Function(s):
SMCS utilizes markerless motion capture technology to measure joint angles and movement kinematics during therapy sessions. Using their smartphones, patients can record their exercise performance, while SMCS analyzes real-time performance metrics such as range of motion and movement speed. Each session is automatically logged to enable continuous
rehabilitation progress tracking. Therapists can hence review precise movement data to
assess patient performance and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Also, SMCS allows patients to monitor their recovery progress remotely, ensuring consistent rehabilitation even during home-based exercises.
